Testimonials

I was fortunate enough to receive my very first massage therapy session from Megan Hislop. Frankly, I was a little dubious, at first... how is someone a foot shorter and at least a hundred pounds lighter going to have any effect on me? I soon learned differently.

Megan is knowledgeable and skillful, but most importantly, she listens to her clients and does her best to meet their needs... she is extremely intuitive, and invests herself in all aspects of the therapeutic experience. Her commitment to health and healing inspired me to continue those experiences and to expIore other alternative therapies. I would recommend her highly, as I found working with her to be an excellent choice and a rewarding experience.

About Megan

Megan believes that inside of every person is the desire to know themself. This work, at it’s best, is really about the human spirit and the willingness to approach ourselves like we are playing on a playground for the first time.

Megan approaches her work with a childlike quality that lends itself to the emergence and synthesis of a huge body of wisdom. Her technical work is grounded in an almost tangible spiritual quality. In her own words, “I found this work, and for the first time in my life I felt like I was home.” What was first a tool for healing from a potentially life-threatening series of health issues has become a holistic body of knowledge that she now uses to give back to others.

Having graduated from the North Carolina School of Natural Healing in 2004, Megan has more than a 1000 hours of training in massage and bodywork, with a strong foundation—500 plus hours— in meditation and self-mastery, and is a nationally certified practitioner. She has shared energetic bodywork and integrated massage in her own studio in Asheville, NC, on tour with Trapeze-Experience, at The Crossings (the #1 rated spa in Austin, Texas), and has volunteered this work in Africa as well as for the kids of Zip Zap Circus, USA a non-profit devoted to serving and supporting underprivileged youth.

She looks forwards to continuing her own path of discovery and sharing what she has learned in new and innovative ways in the future!
